One question, do you live in Venezuela? do you? I have seen these past years how the country deteriorates, in every single aspect, it did not start 8 years ago, when chavez came to power, but few years earlier. Chavez government has no stable future plan for this country, one day they say one thing, next day the say another. They have support simple because it was the only government in a lot of time that really cared for poor people, or at least it seemed so, one thing that governments prior to chavez regime didn't do. Poor people in venezuela are NOT stupid, they just think about the present, which is receive free food, free healthcare, and other social programs. People should think about getting a job, and having a more stable future, than just depending on gov. support. Chavez plans don't seem to think about that. Of course they support the government, if you would be hungry, would you be against that? of course not. However, The oposition thanks to chavez has improved, yes they have, and that is the good part, and no, you're wrong, they don't call poor people stupid, they never have.

Sorry to see it go. You can always return, but on a less regular basis. It was good to have the occasional missive from Bolívar Central.

Hi Ruben,

You could be right, except for the fact that the "Sacudon Politico," "Plan Hemoglobin," and "Operation Red Dawn" seem to already be in the works (according to folks like Lina Ron and the Tupas I know), and are scheduled to begin next weekend. I certainly hope that your optimistic vision comes true, or at least that Mario Silva is right that "They shall not pass... they won't get out of Eastern Caracas."

Plan B or Plan V could just be media noise. What Rafael Poleo did not contemplate in his "plan" as expressed on Globolies is the reaction of the common people. It's an element always forgotten or dismissed by the opposition. I'm fairly certain that the pueblo will take Plaza Altamira on December 3rd or 4th - right near your new pad in Chacao!! :)

second obvious point, not necessarily related to the war...the scumbags who got elected basically ran on "we hate fags too" and were hence able to neutralize republican attempts to turn this into (yet another) an exercise in displaying the bigotry of the nation...

Bina, yeah, you're right. the FSLN is totally dubious at this point. Internationally, it's a good thing that Ortega wins, but... I was watching a documentary on TeleSur about the Nicaraguan revolution, and was surprised to see how critical it was of Ortega, especially his post 1991 alliances....
