Fuck you, Oliver North
From the BBC: "Ex-White House aide Oliver North - at the centre of a 1980s scheme to finance Contra rebels in Nicaragua - has warned the country not to return to the past.
Mr North said he hoped voters would not elect ex-Sandinista leader and former President Daniel Ortega - whom the rebels sought to topple."
Short and to the point. I agree with your sentiment.

Ollie North is so discredited down there, I bet a lot of them are voting Ortega just to spite him.
Let’s hope Ortega’s NOT serious on the total abortion ban, though…I don’t think any good leftist would want to see droves of women dying of dangerous or unwanted pregnancy–or suicide attempted out of desperation at a situation that favors the rich and victimizes the poor.

Bina, yeah, you’re right. the FSLN is totally dubious at this point. Internationally, it’s a good thing that Ortega wins, but… I was watching a documentary on TeleSur about the Nicaraguan revolution, and was surprised to see how critical it was of Ortega, especially his post 1991 alliances….
