Why am I here?

I’m not a blogger of the professional sort, as will be eminently clear soon enough. However, I thought it necessary to begin a blog as I begin new work. I will soon be taking a teaching (read: learning) position within the Venezuelan Revolution, arguably the most important process of our times.

This, then, is the "whirlwind" I refer to, though I hope not to become too "lost" within it—in the words of Tupac—but rather to maintain my compass, as Dussel would put it.

So this blog will hopefully serve as a sort of conduit to the English-speaking world, and will largely consist of translations and summaries of news stories that wouldn’t make it out of the Gran Colombia, and small commentaries and personal accounts from myself and others. So please check back, comment, etc.
